Dive into the magical world of theater this summer with Ridgeline Academy Drama’s (RAD) Youth Theater Summer Camp! Designed for young aspiring actors, this two-week, Monday through Friday camp, running from 9 AM to 3 PM, offers a fun, immersive experience that will transport participants into the whimsical universe of “Seussical Jr.”

On day one, campers will begin with auditions, setting the stage for a journey of discovery, creativity, and personal growth. Under the guidance of Melissa Davis and her team, each day will be filled with activities and rehearsals that not only prepare them for the grand finale performance but also build their skills in acting, singing, and dancing.

The two-week RAD Camp will culminate in a spectacular performance of “Seussical Jr.,” where friends and family are invited to witness the magic that has been created. The final performances showcase the hard work and dedication of camp participants, and shares the exhilaration that comes with live theater.

Beyond the rehearsals and performance, campers will engage in a variety of activities aimed at fostering teamwork, creativity, and confidence. They’ll make lasting memories and friendships, all within the nurturing environment of RAD, where every child is encouraged to shine.

Join us this June for laughter, learning, and the magic of theater. Whether your child dreams of taking center stage or exploring the behind-the-scenes world of theater production, RAD’s Youth Theater Summer Camp is the perfect place to ignite their passion and watch their talents soar. Don’t miss out on this extraordinary adventure into the heart of storytelling and imagination!

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.  Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Seussical JR. provides wonderful creative opportunities in terms of set design, lighting and costuming and can easily accommodate a large cast of expandable “Seussian” creatures.
